The PARLOPHONE RHYTHM-STYLE SERIES
Parlophone Rhythm-Style Series 78s are probably the most well
known to collectors of vintage Jazz records in the United Kingdom. From their
introduction in 1929 to their demise in 1955 the series covered recordings by
almost all of the Jazz stars of the period. There were actually several variants
of the series, and though many of the earlier issues were deleted from the
catalogue during the Swing Era (making some issues quite rare today), others
remained until the end of the 78 era with virtually the same label design as was
used in 1929. A complete listing follows.
